Default extracting RAR or ZIP files

anyone know what program is needed to extract these type of files and can u give me a link, and it would be a big help if they where free

I use zipeg, it's free and works on macs if that is a req.

winrar is the program you're looking for to unzip .rar files:

If you have questions about how to use it, hit me up. It's pretty straight forward though.

if you have a PC with a Win OS - .zip files will extract be double clicking the file and in the left have corner (WinXP) or in the menu bar (Vista) you will find the command to extract.

.rar files require a outside program - try download.com for one

that is a 7Zip file, and you can extract it with this program - http://www.7-zip.org/

if its not a big deal, why are you suddenly coming across a number of different types of compressed files???
