haha I know we were goin like a stright 80 cuz I was lookin at the speedo tellin my frient to slow down a bit when them damn blue lights started flashin. The cop was a complete ******* too, we were very respectful and talked down to us like he was god. It really annoys me when people do that. He also didnt know the MD laws. He thought that u wernt allowed to have other people in your car when you had your provisional licence. When the law is you can have people in your car for the first 5 months. And they didnt say anything about the tint on the car.

Yeah, some cops can be douchebags, I say it's worth fighting. Your friend should have listened to you, though. Sounds like you're the smart one

when i was 16, i got pulled over in my saab for a headlight and tail light out. cop comes up, "license, registration, insurance." then takes the next hour to berate me my headlight and taillight being out. gives me my tickets. so, i decide to go home instead of my friend's. pull a uturn. head the other way. 50 ft. lights in the rearview. same cop. "license, registration, insurance. do you realize your headlight and taillight are out?" "yes officer, i just received a ticket for this." "then why did you change directions?" "i decided to return home after i got the tickets." 45 min later, i got to head home.

ahh, the joys of youth.

Hahaha. If you were in Oregon and asked to see his radar I guarantee he would have come back with a reckless driving citation on top of your 45 over. Foolish advice to take, asking an officer to see his radar gun. You do realize you are questioning the guys integrity when you do that, something most officers pride themselves in. Again, asking to see his radar gun... What a joke.

Also, 100 MPH in Oregon gets you a $1,000 citation and 30-90 day suspension. Your friend should have thanked the officer for only writing him up for 45 over. I guarantee this kids driven like a jackass more than this one time he got caught. He deserved the ticket.

I have to go to court in a couple of hours to see if I can get out of a speeding ticket. I was clocked doing 51 ina 35 (which I had to do in order to safely merge, but I skipped that argument). The ticket is almost $200!I'mgenerally apretty slow driver (much faster since I got the A4), so this was my first time being pulled over, but in past situations involving authority figures, I've been able to bat my eyelashes and be on my way. I'm losing my touch.

i heard hte other thing for females is to just start crying. my only speeding ticket came day after 9/11. think all the cops in the country were out that day enforcing everything. pisser was it was in my corolla. drove sports cars for years. had the turbo rx7 sitting in the garage, and i get a speeding ticket in a slowslowslowcorolla. embarrasing. i was speeding, so i stepped up, paid my fine, moved on. took responsibility, tho dont think i ever told the ex bout it.

By me the cop dont have to show you the radar. Often if you do ask/demand to see it you are asking for them to open the ticket book back up.

He was pacing you. For all the people with this misconception let me clear it up, we DO NOT have to show you the laser gun and what speed we clocked you at. We don't have to do anything you ask until you are arrested, even then all we do is read you your rights andlet you call an attorney. If you two were really going 85 and not 100 that sucks, but regardless your friend could have gotten charged with a lot more (reckless driving etc) and even arrested. It's ok to be mad that he was charged with a higher speed than he was goin, but he was goin pretty damn fast to begin with and he got caught. It's gonna happen
Thats the problem with Authority these days. No one to "police" the police. Basically any cop anywhere can make up anything about anyone and when it comes down to it, its the cops word vs the <already assumed> guilty suspect.

our rights went out the door in 2001. what happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty?
