I don't think that is the way that the global markets look at it. Evidence that I am right? Watch the prices climb. Oil companies don't set the price. The market does.

What do you mean those countries dont play any part in prices. how does iraq not play a roll? pakistan? iran? The 10 million barrels a day from iran doesnt play a roll in the world crude supply? 70-80 million barrels a day are produced from the OPEC nations, you do the math..

You do the math buddy, this has everything to do with the domestic oil companies and government taxes. Its so easy to blame our problems on Iraq and other middle eastern countries, hell lets blame aids on them too.

yes...gas is cheap here but thats because of govt taxation in the european countries. they tax at a much higher % over there.. which i would assume goes to help otehr things that we dont get...(but that part is an assumption)

avant..no worries.. i was backing you on this one..

ill tell you what happens. They set their price on potential supply/demand. Not actual supply/demand. so they see a hostile environment like in those places as it could potentially affect their supply of oil and thus raise the prices.. Its BS and it shouldnt be allowed.

Speculation of all types is an important aspect of capitalism.

i understand that.. but its still bs.. its clearly gouging. you use speculation to base how much supply you need.. not to set your current prices.. your current prices should be set on your current supply and the demand for that supply. they are set in their supply for at least the next 6 months to possibly over a year.

Jump on in there and play if you think that they are winning so much. It's a dicey business.

okay thanks captain obvious.

At what point were we talking about domestic issues?

And nobody is pointing fingers at anyone. World issues are world issues, they affect everyone.

And last time i checked youre the one bitching about your government, not me.
