Golf question
Guys... vwvortex SUCKS. post the question... bump the sh*t outta it, and nothing. quite honestly, i think the entire forum doesn't know a damn thing, and anytime a technical question comes across they freeze. but they'll be more than happy to direct you to the right site for taillights and rims
anyway, here's teh deal. as most of you know... my audi dream has pretty much run outta steam (it only took a year.......). So i managed to track down a pretty sweet golf. as a rundown... the mkIII golfs i'm looking at come with 8v 2.0 engines... replacement of the better 16v 2.0. So... the car i'm looking at has the conversion done, it's a '95 CL in great condition running a 16v 2.0 EFI done perfectly by a licensed VW mechanic in a professional shop. well... done perfectly except for one point... the RMP guage doesn't work due to the EFI. Owner chose the EFI engine due to the immediate throttle response... and for that i'm glad. this car sounds great. he has also added neuspeed headers, making this car good for 160hp. he used to have aftermarket exhaust on it... but he bought ricer style, and with the headers it was WAY too loud, so he's back to stock. which means... that leaves me roomfor exhaust, CAI, chip, and cams easily bumping this to 190-200.
So here it is... anyone have any ideas to get this RMP guage to work? one option is an aftermarket guage.. but those are big and rice, and that still leaves a broken RMP guage in my cluster bouncing around uselessly. the owner was too lazy and busy with school to fix it, or search for a fix or something. and is unsure as to whether or not there is a fix to begin with. among other small cosmetic mods interior and exterior, it comes with a sweet suspension setup. eibach springs with koni reds... i think it's got like a 2" drop. also comes with ugly rims and new summer tires... i'll be selling the rims, and the stock rims with winter tires. all in all.. this is a great car... if i can get the RMP guage to work.
anyone?

damn right man. i'd just hate to have an aftermarket tach. i'm thinking of buying an aftermarket the same size as the stock... and rigging up the internals of the aftermarket behind the cluster of the stock one. but i'm hoping there's a way to get it done by wireing up the stocker.
10 bucks ritt chimes in with the answer..... i hope....
