If you guys ever find yourselves in the market for IT support (presuming I can do it from MY home, unless you're offering 6-figures+benefits, and relocation expenses), I'm your MAN!!! PM, or email: AWDaholic@gmail.com

Weapons.

I manage a small arms repair shop in the army. If you ever start installing weapons on cars, James Bond style, I'm your man. Starting salary of 250K, with half the first year's salary paid up front, a company car, and benefits. I'm willing to move wherever you want me...

8 years from now when I retire.

"Accidentally" leave a copy in your current place of employment. They might give you a raise to keep you.

Or, they might fire you.

Nawl... The way that is done is:

Shop your resume around, and see what the market is willing to pay. If anyone's willing to tender an offer THAN you take your new, *better* offer to your old boss. IF they're willing to pay MOAR for your services, they will. If not, serve notice and, 2-weeks later, say hello to your new boss.

Actually, since VA is a Right-to-Work state, I cud walk out teh door tomorrow, if I wanted. Fukkem! But, I don't play that way unless they start acting like D1cl<5 about it. 99% of teh employers understand teh game, and play it fairly. If they want to keep you around they WILL meet the salary, and pass the expense on to the customer, at the next round of contract negotiations. Timing plays a role, too. You wanna try and make YOUR play just before the next round of contract negotiations between your company and the client. Unless you don't like working there, anymore. Otherwise, you force your company to eat the extra cost of You, for longer then is financially rational. So, they will say thanks, but no thanks. Either way, YOU get MOAR money!

Play the game, but, play it smart.
