Home theater question
So, I'm finally wall mounting my TV, but it's about a 35ft cable run to my ps3 and suround sound reciever. My question is, should I run a HDMI cable, or a component cable? Will either one loose any clarity because of the length?

Component has two things against it - one, it's unbalanced analog so it's susceptible to interference, especially over long distances; two, it's actually three cables bundled together, which makes it bulky and heavy and therefore tricky to tuck away out of sight.
I'd go with the HDMI, which also has the benefit of supporting 1080p video, as well as 5.1 digital audio (component maxes at 720p video and does not carry audio signals).

HDMI! You'll lose signal @ 100ft. so 35ft. wont even come close to loss of clarity. Adjustable 40" - 200" VPL-HS60 Sony HD projector here. Playing Medal of honor heroes 2 with component on the wii is emmersive @ 100".

just make sure you don't pay lots of money for an hdmi cable. you should never pay more than 20 dollars for any cable, the rest are a huge scam. I have a 2 dollar hdmi cable from nextag.com and it performs just as well as a 60 dollar monster cable my parents bought (dumb choice)

^^Amen. Don't buy that crap that the sales guy will tell you about how Monster cables make your system sound/look TOTALLY BETTER - it's crap.
A cable is only as good as the worst A/V component it's attached to.
