i have $200 to buy a gps, but
I have the iphone 2g which means no gps.. I'm getting tired of this thing so I bought another WinMo phone that has built in gps and a tomtom software for turn by turn and what not.. I used to have a winmo phone before but I broke it like 300 times so I got a iPhone after, now that my iphone is indestructable.(it's been through many tests) I got tired of it and need somthing new. So any day my new gps enabled phone will be here
For Xmas my GF gave me money for one so i bought (at Costco where i work) the Magellan 1412. it was pretty sick, quick start up time, but occasionally when it was navigating me somewhere and i would miss the turn, purposely, to test it, it would freeze up and take a while to find itself and re-route.
i returned it and got the Garmin Nuvi 760. Probably would have got the 750 had we had it in the store (was available online) but the 760 with the Bluetooth its kinda cool, havent used it yet, but the idea is cool to use it as a hands free device.
1412 was $179 when i got it, it had a rebate.
760 was $249, outta the $200 range, but might start coming down in price.

Garmin nuvi 750, ebay just under $200. I just got one for myself before the holidays, I like it so much I bought one for a friend as a gift. If you aren't going to make phone calls through your gps (Why would you? and I heard the quality is terrible) you don't need the bluetooth on the 760. 8gb HCSD card for $25 and you got your self a decent mp3 player/picture viewer too.

i love our return policy. The idea for the blue tooth is a good one for states that only allow hands free devices, but the quality does need to improve to be worth the extra $50

Also, if you have the in trunk CD changer, ebay has a cable that converts the stock cable running to the cd changer into RCA's. I ran RCA'S (hidden of course) from the trunk to a hole in the little change holder by the ebrake on my 99 A4, a mini headphone jack is always there for my gps or anyones mp3 player. Easy/cheap mod and you can just plug the cd changer back in if you want cd's.
