I'd buy something that's worth $700 with a receipt then have them return it to get the cash.

i like the idea of freezing it in a block of ice.

but keep out enough to put in an ice tray, and give her a big glass of ice water before you give her the block.
(you'll have to fold up the dollars real tiny so they fit in the ice cube section of the tray)

Why would you have to dry them out? After you give it away, it's not your problem anymore!

So how did it go?

Everything went great! Used the ipad/book idea and she genuinely thought it was a book. Everything went great.

Too late now, but next time fax each dollar separately. Then give him/her the real thing.

One snag with the fax idea.
