I ahve no idea if this is true or not but i know i will have trouble slowing down. Im not a large speeder but im always around 5-10 over it. If i had ppl around my car within 2 miles (i think the range of the V1) then it will always alert me when they radar someone else correct? So would it be worth it. I live in a large city with lots of cars. Should i get a V1 or is there anything better now?

I agree..a radar jammer is a better choice for you! I have a Cobra 9570 (radar detector..not jammer)..I love it and it's saved my *** several times! I can't remember the last time I wasn't speeding!!!

sounds like a hoax.. how much is a ticket for 7mph over? and it would take more time for the paperwork, and stuff that they cant do it, and somehow cover the cost of it all while generating an additional 22 million.. all the overtime that would be required to go to the court dates and all the other type calls that they would need to have officers cover, this just doesnt seem feasible, but maybe it is.. anyone want to figure out the math on this one?

redgoat, i agree but it is very possible that every ticket will be thrown out in court b/c no cops will be going to court to make them stick. I dont know but i dont wanna find out.

karl, CLEARLY you're not familiar with the fees involved in speeding tickets from cali.....i've gotten 5 speeding tickets since i got my license, they ranged from 200 dollars....to 500 dollars, depending on where you get the ticket and how fast you were going..down in orange county, i'm betting it's closer to 500....let's say 300 to be safe. 300 dollars every 20 minutes (it says their goal is 10), with a 9 hour shift (overtime is a huge issue with the police dept. in cali, most officers work over 9 hours a day) = $8,100/officer per day. multiply that by 90 officers, that's $729,000/day total. multiply THAT figure by 30 days....and the grand total comes to.....

$21,870,000

so i was 130k off.....sue me.

500 for 7mph over? Maybe we should just call the OCPD and ask them
