I need some help pickin out a chip MTM vs APR
Ok, so i'm dead set on getting a chip for my 2003 A6, its got a 2.7T with the tiptronic. The price isnt the problem fore, they both come out about the same. There is a slight difference in numbers though when it comes down to torque. Heres the MTM chip http://www.hoppenmotorsport.com/A6_27.htm I want the one on top, the +60hp chip. Heres the APR http://www.streetwerke.com/xcart/pro...181&page=1 The 2nd website has info about their dyno, the first one doesnt, so i'm unable to make a comparison between the two. its possible that the difference in numbers is due to the dyno. I know theres a bunch of you guys here that use APR and i also hear great things about MTM. I would like to read some personal opinions that you have. some pros and cons with your car if you have either. or just general suggestions will be very helpfull. please help me out. even a vote with no reply is help.

Any chip is going to have people raving... unless it's the Neuspeed one. Ba-zing!
Seriously though... I think what you need to hope for here is somebody who's tried both. Everybody is a fanboy of what they own... That doesn't mean what they own isn't great, though... just not exactly getting objective 'data' for your 'research'.
EDIT for barely behing coherent.

A buddy of mine has the APR 100octane program on his B6 S4, its pretty nasty. The only time I've driven on MTM programming was on a V8 Biturbo RS6, dont know if that applies here, but it was no joke.

mmmmmm 2.7T...
not too familiar w/ the MTM program - but I have the 91 program
for my 2.7T (S4) & love it...
best to go w/ which dealer is more convenitent for u to get to
for any service issues etc. that may arise...
But as for the APR - I was sold on how smooth the car stays...
but when u need it - the power is easliy tapped into.
see if u can get a free "trial" for the APR - usually a 6 hour trial run.

im leaning more towards the APR at this point. I want the one with the three programs on it, stick, 91 and 93. it wont be horridly expensive and i can drive it in stock mode for the most part so it doesnt eat as much gas the entire time. im also curious what the valet mode is and if i need it at all. they also have a security device that disables something, im not sure if i need that either

the valet mode is great.. i'd get it if i could afford it...
it turns off boost - engine turns into a real Turtle lol....
that way no need to worry when Valeting ur car.
Security feature - totally disables the car & will not start
(even w/ the key) unless u enter the code.
ur lucky u can get the 93 oct... why not just ditch the 91 & get strictly 93???
