Actually, we ban IPs. So, he'd hafta start a new account from a different IP. Theoretically he could then go back to accessing it from his normal computer. Eventually someone'd catch on and we'd look up his logon history from the *new* s/n, and ban him again. With wifi hotspots, tho, and the most basic of laptops, this could go on for a looooooong tiiiiiiiiiiiime.

 

and thats a whoole lot of effort for someone ...
get banned / have to sign up again form a new IP..
and wash & Rinse & repeat.. etc.

i really don't think he cares one way or another what his AF fate will be.
actually, i think he wants to be banned, just so that he can be proud of what he deems to be an accomplishmentthat he can brag to others about.

Understandable, hope you didn't think that I meant you were the one wasting our time. I realize there are some situations that have to be handled, I have zero doubt that you guys were flooded with complaints regarding this person.

 

Naw, I'm not that thin-skinned... But, your point IS valid, and I wanted to address it in teh very real chance that others felt teh similiarly.

As you WELL know, you can't please all of teh people, so PHUGK 'EM!!! j/k... as with most cases like this, people either feel strongly, or could care less. Little middle ground. Those that could care less may be wondering WTF?!? I wanted to 'splain WTF, you simply gave me an "in" to that explaination.

 

so 1. you just told him exactly how to make a new login if he is banned.
and 2. if you just ignored him and didnt fuel his posting maybe he wouldnt be on here.

maybe im missing it, i rarely ever see posts form him anyway. What section does he post in?

1. I'm pretty sure he already knew, it's not Rocket-Surgery, after all. Still, unless he intends to forever post up from a different IP we'd still catch him because, while he may be able to create a *new* s/n from a different IP, his original IP that we banned him through would STILL be on our list. True, we'd hafta actually LOOK, to see, eventually his bahavior would cause one of us to want to look, and we'd see... See? Now he knows a little bit MORE about teh process. Thanks for asking!
2. I have no problem ignoring him. I have always advocated ignoring those whose posts offend you. I'm a free-speech kinda guy, after all. *Others* have asked, several times, so I decided to leave it up to the community, as I've mentioned at least twice, in this thread... (now 3 times, sheeesh!)
