Just did the move to Lima saturday!
damn its a long drive from VA (8 1/2 hours i think) its definitely a change from what im used to. its flat but theres no beach and its cold but theres no mountains?? hmm... anyway i cant wait to explore the town (although im audiless at the moment ) and im liking me dorm and room mates. we already have some serious guitar hero sessions going

anyway just thought id say hola to all the other Ohio audi lovers (hopefuly ill have mine back soon so i can love my audi in Ohio)

 

I'll holla back, yeah Ohio doesn't have mountains really or that many hills, so it's difficult to ski, but it does have it's perks. At some point in time you'll need to make it to an actual city (i'd suggest Cinci or Colubus) and then you can explore a bit more.

i hear theres a place near bellefontaine i think? to ski/snowboard but i cant imagin it would be all that great. ill probably still check it out at some point though.

 

yeah it's called Mad River Mountain, I've been there and my review is this, it's better then nothing but only by a little, very short vertical, there "blacks" are a complete joke, and the park isn't all that great(but it's decently long, at least the last time I was there)

You might want to check out Perfect North Slopes ( my home hill) (in aurora Indiana, but it's just outside Ohio down by Cincinnati) or Brandywine/boston mills which is up closer to Cleveland (I've never been here but I've heard it's pretty good for ohio riding)


on a random note I think there is a weekend in February when Mad River has college days and a college student with a valid id can get half priced lift tickets.

You're gonna hafta head North to Michigan, if you wanna ACTUALLY ski downhill... Experience (somewhat) reasonable speed limits... Find a girl with ALL her teeth... Stuff like that. But... Ummm... AVOID Detroit, if at all possible. It's ENTIRELY populated by criminals! Even teh Mayor[:-]
