Nice. I will buy the bissell spot bot, once I am done with my project. I smoke all the time while driving, and I usually put baking powder in my ashtray and that seems to work well.

Good idea. I usually just beat the dust out of mine....If you smoke in your car like me, you should try wiping the interior windshield down with a rag. There is a nice layer of film created by the smoke[:@]

So lately I have been noticing that the inside of my car was not smelling fresh. The car is subject to lots of concerts etc so hundreds of cigarettes have been smoked in it and many drinks (nonalcoholic of course) spilled thanks to careless friends. I finally decided to hit the floor mats with a wet vac. I have a Bissell spotbot that has a hand attachment, used the #2 solution with oxyclean. Took about 1.5 hours to do a good thorough job on just the mats, this included dry vacuuming first. The floor mats look brand new, the car has never smelled better. The water that was sucked up into the collection tank was amazingly filthy, pitch black. This shocked me because I wash the car every week and clean the inside every other week. Needless to say no more eating/drinking/smoking in my audi. If you ever want a good tool to clean your carpets in your Audi buy the bissell spot bot, it's great if you have pets prone to accidents as well because it auto cleans carpets. I'm sure there is something better/cheaper out there if you look , spotbot is about 120, I just used what I had laying around.

I work at a BMW dealership and we have some customers that come in with ash from their cigarettes on the seats, floor, back seat from it blowing there, ashtray, and just any place you can think of. It's so foul. I remember we have this one guy in particular who comes in. I think he's some fat English guy, I don't remember though. Nonetheless, I can't stand cars that smell like cigs but I can manage. This guys car in particular was so bad that I had to hold my breath in it other wise I would choke. I couldn't roll down the windows because at the time he came in it was raining. [:@]

i have these!! at first, i thought i'd just use them for winter, but i've grown to like them so they are in my car year round.

Autozone and Advanced sells a product called "Immozium". It's a Glycol based airdeodorizer and disinfectant often used in doctor's offices. Turn on your ac fan and spray a few shots in the air intakes in front of the windshied. It will kill any bacteria in the ac intake system and ductwork and completly neutralizes cigarette odor. Once it circulates in the cabin, it will also take the smell out of the interior fabrics. Works incredibly well!
