Default LED BULBS

I recently got rear ended and had to replace by tail lights. I bought the car back in may and it came with black tail lights. Some people ask what i mean by that but its just black where it should be red. Since I had to replace the lights the auto guy painted some new tail lights and replaced them with the old. I drove around for a weeknot knowing i had to light coming out of the back of my car. Basically it wasnt bright enough, not even when i hit the brakes. I took my car back and the guy put on some stock tail lights (red ones) and told me too look for bright enough LED bulbs that would shine through. I have no idea where to find them at online, or what store. HELP...I WANT MY BLACK TAIL LIGHTS BACK

Tried LED once - but the TT can sense the voltage going to the brake lights - no (or low) volts means likes are out. So everytime I pressed the brakes my display would BEEP and tell me my brake lights were out - when they were not.

That lasted one day - replaced them with regular bulbs.

Dont you usually tint tail lights not paint them? Where your old ones painted? I think tinting a better way to do it, iv heard storys of bulbs melting the plastic of the lights because they got too hot behind paint.
