Cheap stuff kicks ***!! my buddies misfortune with his TT got me some goodies....he was doing auto crossing and hit an oil slick and slammed the TT into a wall and tottaled it, so he gave me his APR chip, his muffler, and his turbo timer for 150 bucks..what a hell of a friend ha!,ohh update on the headlights, the driver side came out awesome, i made a mistake and painted inside the brights so i dont really have brights any more..but it looks bad *** so it was worth it if you ask me and i left the amber turnsignal in it....im starting the other headlight tommorow and i will post everything, by the way...this is how i did the driver side.
Tools needed,
Small metal puddy knife or a bondo knife,
Flathead screwdriver,
tube of silicone adhesive- Advance auto parts, or Auto Zone- 4 bucks,
Black engine paint up to 500 degrees- Flat black is what i used- 5 bucks,
High heat primer- 5 bucks as well
2000 Grit sand paper- 4 bucks.
remove hedlight and all bulbs,
pre-heat conventional oven to 300 degrees and place the hedlight in for 15 minutes,
take out with gloves and place puddy knife under plastic covering the glass and fold over all top portion, then insert puddy knife between plastic and glass to remove, do all 4 sides untill glass is off. You will need to reheat the light a few more times. remove turnsignal portion that is withing the glass by pushing in the 4 pins holding it and remove. primer and paint. take off amber signal if desired.
let paint dry for an hour and place turnsignal portion back in glass, place the backportion of light in the over, reheat and fold back the lip that goes over glass as it was before. Apply a steady amount of silice adhesive into the slots on the back panel of the black potion of the light and insert glass back into place. I used duct tape to hold the glass tight against the back pannel while it dried for 2 hours, took off and then placed back on the car...and thats it folks, all together it took me 2.5 hours for the first headlight
