Default Motorcycle Riders out there?

My first love...

I started about 15 yrs old and have had the following:

85 Kawisaki Ninja 600
93 Suzuki GSXR 750
99 Yamaha R6 (Number 18 'EVER' off the assembly line)
89 Yamaha XT 350
01 Yamaha YZF 426
99 Kawaski KX 250
98 Suzuki GSXR 750 (my old race bike)

The only one in my garage, sold all above:
01 Suzuki TL1000r (my current street bike)

Got into MX about 6 years ago had a blast... Did a couple of supermoto events, and did some sporatic road racing (all novice level) at Willow Springs.

With gas prices loking to stay sky-hig, for teh forseeable future, I am, for the 3rd time in my life, considering purchasing a scootR. 600 - 900 sized, I think. Gonna take some classes, late in the summer, and prolly shop around for a scootR over teh winter. So, suggestions for my 1st bike? Three things to consider, prior to tossing in your comments/suggestions"
1. I will most likely be (ab)used. More bike for less money, that way. And, I can prolly do my own wrenchin...
2. I'm partial to Italian Sport bikes, but not MARRIED to them. Nothing Brit (nothing personal, just not asthetically appealing to me.
3. I'm not old enough to want a cruiser, YET!!!

didnt want to scare anyone but most of my friends ride hard, and when you take chances on a bike there is more to loose..

Yeah. I know that. Most of my buds rode, too, when I was growing up. They rode (mostly) sensibly, tho. And, believe me, I've seen worse accident aftermath scenes while living in/traveling around Europe... Ever see what's left of a body after it launches through a windshield from a head-on between a Fiat 850 and a Cagiva 500? I have. Much worse, too. Still gonna get me a scootR...
