Default music help?? mr dj?

what do you call it when you have one older original song in the background and then some current band singing on top of that.

i was in a restaurant and heard michael jacksons original "rockin robin" in the background and someone else along with it.

is that what they call a remix?
i was just wondering how you find other music like that?

Most of the ones I know are a posthumous duet.Of course those are between living and dead artists.

When I saw Kelly posting about Mr. DJ, I thought it was gonna be a request for Carrie Underwood's mix tape.

they are called mash-ups, and I know they sell mash-up cd's at stores and such but a lot of them are offered for free online. Youtube is a good place to start! :]

A mash up is the matching of 2 different songs

I think you are thinking of when a new band uses and old songs tune because they don't feel like making a new beat. For example, Chris Rock's new song about Summer and whatever, whenever I hear it I don't think of that song but I think of the original song Werewolf in London instead.

You know how even Nas used the riff from Inagodadavido for his into to Hip Hop is Dead
