My wife and I have gotten more than our money's worth out of our Canon Powershot A70 that's about 3yrs old.

Now we have a 10 week old baby that's begging us to buy a better camera.
Budget pricing is key. (Sub $300)

The camera's life will basically consist of shooting pictures of:

1. My beautiful wife
2. My beautiful son
3. My beautiful car

In alphabetical order, the choices are:

1. Canon PowerShot A630
2. Canon PowerShot A710 IS
3. Canon PowerShot S2 IS
4. Canon PowerShot SD700 IS
5. Fuji FinePix F30
6. Kodak EasyShare Z612

FYI for anyone looking at this thread, I chose the Canon S2 IS.
At $235 total with tax and shipping included, I couldn't pass it up. (Dell)

Hope it's as good as the reviews say it is and as soon as it hits my grubby little paws I'll be updating some long overdue pics of the car.

dunno about the camera choice but thats one cute baby .... my boy (alfie) is now just over 5 weeks
that smiling thing just kills ya dont it

 

only one I have had experience with is the cannon A710 and Its a great camera, I also have another cannon and its been great too

 

maybe we need a "cute baby" thread for all you proud papa's!!!
