Your grades DO play a part, these days, so make SURE it gets brought up. if tha insuraance peeps don't.

And, tell yer Dad to make Thumper WORK OFF the RS4, BEFORE he buys it for him

God... I'm still working off the one that I have now...Wouldn't wanna add another $10k to the work I already have to do...

Oh, and believe it or not, there's not a huge difference between an A4 and an S4 premium wise. They both have turbos (with the 1.8t anyway) and both are considered 'luxury' cars. When I started with my new insurance agent, I jokingly asked him what the cost difference between the A4 and S4 were. It was a lot less that what I was expecting. Only like $100 for 6 months or something... so 17 a month difference.

definitely untrue...maybe your state is different than mine but i am paying 349 a month for a 2001 s4 and when i was looking into cars i did not look into insurance...and when i bought the car i did not call my insurance compnay till like 5 days after..... i was scared from what everyone was telling me about the s class and the sports sedan ...so when i finally called i went through my agent and he told me aig is gonan be the cheapest..well like said i am paying 349 for the s4 when my insurance agent had told me i should have bought the a4 and do the s4 conversion just for the insurance rates???he told em if i would have bought an a4 2.8 or a a4 1.8t then my insurance rates would be around 208?? to me that is 141 dollar difference between the s class and the a class including the 1.8t...and thats a month so i would be saving 850 every 6 months........

I currently am 17, have a 1 year driving experience, took drivers ed., have good grades discount, have an 03 Audi 1.8T and pay 200$ a month for insurance, so I pay $2400 a year. Sucks *** I believe its put under my name as the main driver but I'm part of my parents plan.

I pocket about 300$ - 400$ bucks a month after inusrance so I can still Mod, and my parents pay for sh*t that goes wrong with it so thats nice... just got to hold grades/job, pay insurance and enjoy the car! The gay thing is they classify it as a effing turbo'd car so they charge me more... Mabye I should let them know my cars heavy and slow![>:] Prices should be lower IMO... hopefully they take a drop soon

Do you have any idea of exactly how much the good grade discount is? Also, must you have straight A's/ what do you need to show the insurance in order to apply?
Dang, the increase of price just for the car being a turbo is scaring me.. I guess I'll have to pay to play though...
Thanks for the input!

I think good student discount saved me almost 10%. you need a 3.0 cumlative GPA or higher, you have to show them your latest report card to get it.

Sucks for you. Let me guess, you're under 25, had an accident, or have a few tickets, have less than 6 months of insurance history, and you live in Florida, right? There's no reason why you should be paying 5 times what I'm paying. I have $500,000/$1,000,000 medical, full coverage including 'acts of God' and theft, with a $500 deductible, and I'm paying around $400 for 6 months.

Oh, and AIG is not cheap. American Family is great. Geico and the likes are a bit cheaper, but have poor service.

Holy crap... a 16year old with an Audi...

God... when I was 16, I had to work for a year to buy my first car. My parents are freakin rich as hell too. It's not fair.

As long as you're going to be working it off, and maintaining it and stuff out of your own pocket, I respect you. If daddy's paying for it all, please, for your own good, get an RS4. It's a much tighter car...
