to a sad realization of the world we live in...

Picked up my 9mm Springfield XD pistol today.

Next I have to attend about 10 hours of gun safety and the laws surrounding carrying a concealed weapon.

Then wait for the approval - rubber stamp mostly... for me to carry a weapon. In my line of work I've been threatened numerous times and carry cash deposits of considerable amounts daily. So the need is there...

Not truly liking the fact I'm needing to carry, but I have to admit it felt good to be back on a gun range.

What do you do for work? My dad and uncle both are in similar situations often with large ammounts of cash, they carry all the time.

Manage an impound yard that's contracted out by the local city, county and state law enforcement.

Most of whom come through my door are not the happiest when they shell out $1K to get their rides back after 30 days.

Worst yet if they fail to come for their vehicles after 45 days and the lien matures allowing us to sell their vehicles legally...

Two months ago we had our front door firebombed and in the process of bullet-proofing the front office.

Up til now people have backed off (I can be intimidating) but we've recieved threats over the years and they have increased dramatically in past few months - that and an increase break ins and such...

Yea dats serious work. I know of this one guy from NY that drives the tow truck and got shot on one occasion, survived, got a permit to carry a .38 and got stabbed a month ago by some guy in his Escalade and he had to blow his face off. Heard it brings in good dough but I dunno if its worth the risk. I'd invest in bulletproof armor

Carrying for the win!

Parents own a jewelry store so mom carries a .357 Mag and dad carries a Ti S&M .38 Special

.40 glock for me.
