I had a 10" Alpine Type R sub in my last car running off an 800w rms Infinity amp in my last car and it hit nicely and I had zero problems.

BUT the good side is I just got my insurance check and I am replacing it with this:
Jensen VM9312
And this:
Kenwood KFC-W3011 12" Subwoofer
It should sound pretty good! I have heard these in the stores before and they are LOUD!
Also with this deck I can get XM sat. radio which I couldn't before so I might install that later down the road.

im loving the ipod touch screen controls...

my alpine has ipod interface - but its all awkward & kinda clumsy...
the touchscreen is def the way to go.

I ended up going w/ the simple setup.. a 10inch alpine Type R / a 950 watt amp (Almani)
and the alpine headunit complete w/ the ipod hook up in the glove box...
and some bonus pics for good measure -
one of a ricer complete w/ euro taillights.. the guy was bumpin' mariachi music at the drive in.
the other a decal I thought was hilarious
