Please help me choose
Hello everyone i know NooB yeah dont judge me not my first go around on the forums just the first one on here.. anyway so im looking into an Audi, I was looking into an A3 but I want the AWD and manual and they dont come combined in America so im looking for more options. Im wanting the hatch back for the space and i like the look, wanting the AWD for the minnesota Winters and the manual simply because I dont trust autos. I was looking into the A4 advant but it seems long. I need to keep the size down since I got a short parking area and garage. the A3 seemed to be just the right size, can anyone help point me in a good direction.

Read: "I don't trust the thing that Audi spent tens of thousands of dollars and hours designing and developing that's purpose built to do its job."
But I'm just busting your *****. lol The A3 is a good choice for the reasons you stated and you're right, no Quattro and manual available. You'll have to make a compromise: either get Quattro or get a manual. With that being said I think that the 4 cylinder is ONLY a front wheel drive engine and the 3.2 V6 is ONLY a Quattro engine so again, you'll have to choose. The 3.2 is really peppy and it WILL be backed with a Tiptronic transmission. I had the Tip in my '98 A4 and it was the only part that DIDN'T have problems, the guys that know me can vouch for this. Audi's transmissions, whether auto or manual have had a very good record for reliability.

Im off the A3 idea its either all or none so I went looking for an A4 advant and found one on cars.com its a 03 denim blue pearl 1.8T 5speed with 100088 miles for 8450 its got minor hail damage but its carfax certified. I posted a link to it in my wecome thread but aparently it wont let me link to it or bookmark it. Its a very clean car inside and out other than the light hail damage.

Good stuff. Did you talk to the seller yet? MAKE SURE ALL THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE IS DONE. If it's not, that car will eat you alive. Things like timing belt, water pump, belt tensioner, wheel bearings, CV joints, etc. Here's the A4 newbie guide, I know it's for B5's but a lot of the information is still the same. https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...ion-2-a-80968/
'03 Audi's are fairly advanced cars, guy. I think it was in '03 that Audi began offering satnav systems, which was an extremely rare option. A lot of people thought my '98 was nice when I bought it in 2008 so don't bash on it. If you simply just keep up with basic maintenance then car will be very, very reliable although it's no Honda or Toyota in that category.
