It's wild how fast and how close they get to the by standers on those dirt roads.

 

Saw an interview, once. Driver basically said they don't even "see" them as people. They see them as bushes, shrubs, and such. "Otherwise you'd be TOO scared of killing someone to drive properly." As for teh spectators, I suspect many of them saw it as some form of extreme sports game of CHICKEN, teh way they'd wait until th e last second to dive out of teh way. I wish the'y d've kept the Killer Bees and gotten rid of the roadside spectators, instead...
