Haha, thats awesome. I loooooove I-287 in northern NJ, the concrete pavement quality is simply the best I've ever driven on in the states, especially around Skyline Drive exit and all the way north to the 87 junction, and cops have nowhere to sit because of all the noise barriers. Speeding there is great, I once chased Merc S-class W220 at around 120 mph there.

yea not many, but there certainly is a few spots they sit, and the problem is, unless ur scanning ahead for brake lights, or you have a detector, its near impossible to see them until its too late. i hate the spot they have right before the 87 merger on the left, before the bridge, they can nail you from all the way up that hill but then your in ny almost right away so with a lil downshifting in a nice car, the sluggish v8's in the crown vic's don't cut it. although the statey's cars are getting faster. i was in the back seat of a local smokey's cruiser in bloomingdale nj and i swear i could hear a supercharger in that thing, not to mention it was ***** to the wall fast for a cruiser. still wouldn't touch most of our cars tho.

OK, this took place in about 1975.....
.
I was driving a 1973 Ford Maverick with my wife beside me, headed from Orange County down to my wife's sisters place in San Diego to visit. She had just moved, so we had never been there before. Got off the 5 at ( I think ) La Jolla Village Dr ( or could be Nobel Dr ) and headed east, per directions. Missed a right turn, so I looked for a place to turn around. Road went down into a gully-like area, then went up the other side of the gully, about 1/4 mile later. Pulled into the center median at the bottom of the gully to pull a U-turn. while waiting, cop goes by to my right. I notice he kinda slows down, and I get the idea he's watchin if I make (illegal?) U-turn. I'm only 23 and stupid, so I go ahead and make the U-turn anyway. Cop immediately does the same thing, but by this time he's headed up to far side of the gully. I floor it back up the west side of the road, come to the same turn I was supposed to turn on in the first place, and tires screeching (7.50x14 bias plys really stick) make the quick left. I make another quick left, then turn into an apartment complex and park in one of the stalls. After about 4 minutes, my mother-in-law in the back seat goes out to see if the coast is clear. It was. Oh, by the way, it was her car.

Yup, I know exactly the spot that you're talking about, its definitely one of the few spots where they do their fishing. When driving northbound past that spot I try to tuck in behind cars in the far right lane to prevent him from having a line of sight on my car.

ahh so your techniques are very similar to mine. by the way i spoke of the back of a cruiser in bloomingdale, i went to court for that the other day. charges were as follows.
-94mph in a 65
-driving while suspended
-cracked windshield.
got off on the suspended charge, dont really know how, just flashed paperwork that didnt really make sense. took my speed down from a 94 to a 79, couldnt believe it. and had to pay the windshield ticket even tho i brought the receipt showing i fixed it within a few days of the ticket. i thought i got off pretty lucky by paying like $167 instead of God knows what.

no attorney, the cop was really nice when he pulled me over, the only reason they impounded the a4 and brought me to the station was because he had called it in before getting to talk to me enough, realized the circumstances and wished he could have reversed it. i had these funny papers that really just confused everyone and i have a ct license so nj was confused. they all gave me a break. lucky

Only 500$, i would have loved to pay that, instead 800$ for lawyers, 200$ fine, 150 hours community service, 1 year suspended license for the same thing oyu did. I said it once and ill say it again, if you guys visit the lovely state of Illinois stay away from kendell county.
So, FasterA4ThanUrs you license was really suspended, know anyway i can get around the system to get my license back wink wink.
