I always thought that you would be with me forever.
From my Childhood on I believed you'd never leave me ever.
Always there, to kiss and hug the hurts away.
It’s unfair, it seems, for me to finally face this day.
Aware of the dreams, so unfulfilled and here to stay.
You helped me when I was learning how to be a Man.
There for me, from the first moment my life began.
My first steps were taken towards your loving arms.
My first words brought out by your loving charm.
Always there, and always protecting me from harm.
Never thought I’d have to say these words to you.
Never felt this was something you would ever do.
Never believed you’d bring a tear to my eyes.
Never thought that you would make me cry.
I never thought that you would leave without Goodbye.
Now I pray that you will always be safe and sound.
Now you’re not here, but you will always be around
You will always be a part of what I feel, as the days go by.

I still remember the all the laughter and the times we shared.
I still remember the tender words, when I thought no one cared.
I can’t imagine how empty I will feel, now that you’re gone.

I was there when my Grandfather passed, but when my GrandMother passed I was overseas. And, because my ex-wife chose not to tell me, at the time, I didn't even find out about her passing until almost 8 months later... So, like you, I was unable to be there for and with my Family when they needed me, and, more importantly, when I needed me to... This was written in remberance of my "GeeGee," and your loss, too.
