The car search isnt going as well as I'd like - my new budget is sub 2k which is really hard with my elevated expensive taste after driving an s6 for a year I really do like the old mk2 idea, i'll look around craigslist for something

Chris - I had about 3 cups at your house before the game, I wish I could have had more but I got there too late and we had to get to the game, and it was crazy seeing you at that frat - didnt expect that at all! that was a fun game to watch as well, your brother gets way into it. some guys at Chi Phi want me to pledge, is that a good house to check out? another one of my buds at SAE wants me to join there, as well

My buddy Straton is in the Chi Phi house and he is really the only one i know. he is chill as hell. plus, Chi Phi throws "heaven and hell" one of the craziest partiest on campus, it gets insane. SAE i know 2 guys, one is pretty cool, the other is a complete douche bag, and im quite certain that is the general consensus of most people on campus, there are reasons that their stupid ugly lions get vandalized quite frequently (of which i actually don't know haha, but i know it happens). Well, there ya go, haha, all the other frats generalize all SAE members as this, at least when i lived in Theta Chi that was what we all talked about. you dont seem like that type haha.

 

or... Sexual Assault Expert. Haha. there are multiple interpretations out there about every frat/sorority. some may be true, some may not. o well, still fun.

 

Yeah, I got a message from the president of Chi Phi - trevor giroux and he asked me to come to a formal dinner tonight to meet everyone, too bad I didnt get the message until now! What are some other good frats? I didnt go to rush week so I really have no idea what is what.

 

From my interactions at Chi Phi, they are all pretty chill guys. i have a friend what was, well still is, in Acacia and those guys are pretty cool as well. idk man, thats a hard question to asnwer because i found the whole frat thing to be lame, its cool and all, sweet parties, girls that come over frequently, but on the same token, imo stupid responsibilities, hazing, loss of freedom (i.e. sharing a room and being forced to sleep in a sleeping porch unless you live in the SPE house which has fire exits for each room, im not sure about any of the others). if that is your thing, then go for it. i just didn't like the lack of sleep, being forced to clean **** up all the time, thats not my deal, i dont do well with guys either the same are or younger trying to tell me what to do and threatening me if i dont. Im not trying to talk you out of it by any means, but i would jsut go around and meet different houses and see who fits best. most of the guys i have met at most houses seem to be pretty chill, but there are def. fake a$s people around, and its almost like they are paying for friendship. i never went to rush either, i informally pledged and just decided never to go through 'I' week. just dont get suckered into, its pretty easy and im sure you good at it, to figure out when they are telling the truth or just on a mission to get as many members as they can so they will get more money from alumni.

 

well thats pretty eye opening. haha. to be honest I didnt know much about all of those responsibilities. one of the largest reasons i'm considering a frat is the amount of girls you can meet opposed to living in the dorms (there are no cute girls in west) and the ability to party without walking all across town. I'm even more motivated by the fact that i hate my roommate and he is a huge douche. But with all of those things, I think i'll steer clear of it. can i still get into the huge parties, such as heaven and hell when i'm not in the mix?

 

Yea man all ya gotta do is get to know somebody there and have them put you on the list. that's what im hoping my buddy straton will don this year, one of these nights ill get ahold of him and we should head back over there and play some pong or something, you'd prolly like him. yea man, when i lived in Theta Chi we each had house duties, not that big of deal, but if you werent there or forgot to do it, or it wasnt to their standards, you (given that you were actually a member) got a demerit. $5 fine for each. since i was not a member they could not charge me, just beat the hell out of my door when i was in there studying which lead to a couple close to fights and me constantly having to throw a kid down the hall way to get him away from me when i was studying. So i gave that ish up pronto.

as for the roomate, that sucks man, can you request a new roommate? no girls there eh? thats lame as hell too man, gotta get outta there haha.

 

well cool man, thanks for all of the info! I'm gonna go do laundry now, but i'll definitely give you a call this weekend and we can head over there and stuff. I'll talk to my friends in the frat to see if i can get on the list.
