Buy a higher-miled e30 and mod the hell out of it.
word. i had one of those and got about half-way thru finishing the mods, but ended up selling it to a friend so i could get an e36.

i wish i never sold it, and one day im gonna get another one (this time i will aim for a 91 325is)

miata, rx-7, mr2, 240sx, old school 3 series, old school eagle talon(awd turbo)....maybe a first gen supra?...cressida (four door/rwd sleeper)...a datsun 510 would be da ****...maybe a 1986 totota corolla?....

I'd say you would be better off spending 2,500-3K and going from there....

1K is gonna buy you a p.o.s. racer, and in the end will cost you more $...

I have had a miata and a 240sx...and right now my project is a 240Z...both the 240 and the miata were amazing...easy to take care of, no unexpected prblems, I drove them both to 250K...then I flipped the miata and sold the 240sx after a santa monica bus knocked off its door...

so, I would say...supercharged miata or sr20det 240sx

unless you do some crazy motor swap...like a 2jz in a first gen supra...sounds like a tight squeez PITA!

well, I would say if I was in your shoes I would trade in your tip a4 and some $ for a stick S4....or trade your a4 for a manual A4, I would trade your 2001 for a low mileage nDBW, AEB and go BT, Prolly an eliminator kit... either way, I would def put the $ into an audi instedad of a weekend windup toy (that will prolly end up being a neverending project like my 240Z)

Good Luck!

Buy a <95 Elantra or Excel Or any CSM and drop a 4G63T into it. I got my 95 Elantra for $400 and Im waiting until spring to do the swap. Should be less than $2000 total with a complete donor car.
