i dont know about getting your roommate but a good prank I used to play on some frat brothers in the room next to me goes like so:

1 Manila Envelope
1 bottle of shaving cream/whip cream
1 leg to stomp

Directions:

1 Fill the manila envelope full of the cream of your choice (insert childish joke here)
2 Make sure it is really full and the envelope is expanded.
3 Fit the open end underneath the door of victim
4 stomp on the envelope covering the room in some form of cream (insert childish joke #2 here)

This works alright and the damage depends on the space underneath the door and the floor, the amount of cream you fit into the envelope and the stomp administered … but it is sure to **** off the person whose room gets covered. By my senior year it was common practice to tape off the bottom of your door before you went to bed.

place a nice heavy line of baby powder at the bottom of the door and use a hair dryer to blow it in. it will put a fine layer of talc on everything in the entire room.

a few sardines inserted into the middle of the pillow stuffing (slight slit at opposite end of the pillow that the one that faces the pillow case opening, then replace) takes a looooooong time to find

cotton ***** soaked in fox urine (found at any hunting suppply store for masking human scent) or deer musk and introduced between the coils of a room radiator or in an air vent make for fun for the whole family.

100 Crickets purchased at the bait shop love dorm rooms as well and are inexpensive I hear.

surfing someone. take office or dorm room trash can, fill 2/3 with water, lean against door.
Knock, or leave for wake up gift.

if you have access to the rafters, redirect the bathroom exhaust fan with flexi ducts to the air vent of the person's room. When fan goes on, smells go there.
