How do i fix this? the nail polish remover turned white on the table. I know the **** has acetone in it which is used to strip paint. but is there a way I can fix just this location or does the whole thing have to be refinished? the thing cost me over 300 bucks and got it as a matching set for hte living room, they are not made anymore. so i am kinda pissed about it.

If it's just the top, sand it down, and stain it a few shades darker. Then you will have a nice 2 tone table. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...4507&s=kitchen

 

then it won't match the rest of the living room and look tacky. that one in the pick you have looks good, but mine will look nothing like that.

 

was the table glossed? if so you probably could just regloss it. if not, do it up with the 4 rings in the middle of it and then put a piece of dark glass over it

 

You'll hafta tryN match the existing stain, as best as you can, if yu wanna keep the original look. Yu can prolly do some "test" stains on the under (unfinished) side of the wood.

Yur still gonna hafta sand down the damaged stain/seal-coat... Post of a pic of the whole table, and one of the specific damage and I can give you some better suggestions of how best to proceed.

Spill some MORE nail polish remover in a decorative pattern, on the current table and any matching end-tables, and act like you bought them that way...

You could always try Murphy's oil soap for wood. My dad is a amateur carpenter so I know a thing or two abouts teh wood.

If it's just stain and no veneer then try Murphy's Oil Soap. You can get it at Wal-Shart, Lowe's, Home Despot, etc.
