i dont have the pic anymore, but framed in the gift shop at Niagara falls is a photo uf the RCMP (Canadian Mounties) in **** and ***** formation. I have no clue why nobody has made a big deal about that.

 

The phallus is supposed to symbolize sexual anxiety. This is effective because people tend to indulge in behaviors such as drinking, smoking, and overeating when they are nervous or anxious. By making people who view the advertisement nervous they are more likely to smoke more but if the advertisement overtly attempted to make people nervous they would probably object to the add and refuse to buy the product. Its an entirely psychological approach which is why I find it interesting since Im a psych major

 

Remember the building explosion scene at the end of "Fight Club" - not sure if that was advertising, but it was subliminal.
