Default Test drives!

Allrighty, when you guys were all car shopping, what other cars did you go as far to test drive before settling on your Audi? For me it was a Lincoln LS V8 standard, Saleen S281, Jaguar X-Type 3.0, an old school Camaro with a 350, and a Prius. The A4 I finally bought was almost a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing after fooling around a couple times in an Audi Cabriolet (the 90 based one) and also it was one of my friends secret plans all along for me to get a Quattro A4. Glad I did, although that S281 would have been so much fun to drift around!

a BMW 318i 5sp with the winter package. I almost bought it but then the guy who was selling it desided to give it to his friend (for his daughter's 1st car)instead of me even though I had already left a deposite with his wife[:@]. That pissed me off for about a week, then my parents were like we just can't get you your own car for a while which also depresed me since they had put it off for about a year and a half at that point and my sister was comming home from college soon for the summer. So long story short when I got back from camping for 3 weeks in NM my Audi was in the driveway with a bow on it

BMW 328, VW GTI (of course), Subaru STI (I almost went for it, dealer called me back too late), MazdaSpeed 3 => downpayment for 6 months and no car to show for, went with Audi and never looked back!

Mini Cooper S with JW Cooper upgrades, G35, Mustang GT Convertable,VW GTI, IS 250/350, A4, S4 & A3 with DSG. I've driven a lot more just for the hell of it, but I'm a test drive *****. I enjoy the feeling of a new car and punishing it at somebody else's expense.

Cheers!

Ahhh, the Mini Cooper S... I looked at one but never test drove it. I'd love that car but it's just too small for my lifestyle.

It was fun, but never in the running. I need to fit three kids in the backseat occasionally. The Mini and the Mustang only had 2 seats. I didn't need to purchase either anyway.

Cheers!

Yeah, same here with the Saleen. Would have been a hell of a fun car to drive, but I like being able to take more than one other person with me, and being able to drive in these New England winters is nice, too!

I drove the Cooper with the Works for a few days - one of my boss's car. Great drive, turns around on a dime, fast, great MPG but no back seat whatsoever unless the people in the back are 1) dwarves or 2) less than 10 years old. The rule of thumb for the mini is if you have legs that go further than the seat, you cannot be in the back...

I also tried the limited edition and it was a blast but the 18" shoes are not the best fit for everyday drive, makes your a$$ sorry after 30 minutes but the smile is there to make it all worthwhile!
