Default V1 Hardwire

Yea, I know a post is already open on radars and I could've just posted there but not lookin to jack a thread.

Tried to do the hardwire mod with an older B6 writeup. Involves removing the convenience/ map light cluster on the top and after popping off the dome light cover, I came to realize that there were no screws or easy ways to remove the entire unit. [:@]I am now contemplating just running the 8ft cable across the top between the headliner and the windshield, and down the A-pillar to my fuse box.

- Is there any other way to accomplish my "main goal" without running the damn cable to the fuse box.
- If I do have to run it there, does anybody know a running 12v power source and ground already in place that I can tap into.

All help appreciated.

Hey fez I dunno of any easier ways to hardwire it than running da directwire throughout ur headliner and stuff. I guess most just try to conceal it as clean as possible. Also u can run the wire through your front windshield vent and have ur V1 sittin low. Although make sure its clear of your windshield's dark areas as this can result in poor signal strenght. Another thing is they make a separate radar display box that camoflauges wit ur center cluster specially for the b6. I saw it on ebay a while back. I think it was only $100. It looks slick. But I have a c5 and escort radar so I had no use in gettin it. I'd give u a link but my stupid phone don't let me log on. Anyways try to look for it. Maybe they have online instructions for hardwiring process. Try valentine/audi for search
