That was pretty good - I like the older M5's sooo much better than the new ones.

Old model 3 series take away from what BMW is trying to be... Everyone and their mother has one. Not impressed.

The new ones on the other hand, I'll give props to. They look totally refreshing compared to the old body style.

But yeah...ugh @ old 3 series.

Like the E30/E36? I mean yeah there somewhat common but they are what BMW was about, pure enthusiast cars that can be DD but also have a soul and communicate with the driver, long before all this big daddy bullSh!t(Stability control, traction control, active steering, active cruise control), they put in there cars now. The new design style and the new electronic dependency's that BMW is using absolutely makes me not like the company as much as I did before. Have you ever used iDrive? or what about having to push a button just to get full HP on your engine. IMO, in the pursuit of profit and appeasing the masses BMW has strayed from its original statement of "the Ultimate Driving Machine". The cars are to electronic now, and try and babysit what you are doing, effectivly taking the driver out of the equation.

I'd take one of those "common" E30's over a new E92 any day of the week. the only thing the New 3er has going for it is the ttI6 they developed for it. (but imagine that engine in a car that is half the weight, and half the size)

Just my thoughts though.

edit:

Also I agree they are common but have you ever thought of where you live? I mean, yeah I see alot of 3er's where I live but I live in a neighborhood where neighbor's have a bently and a Carrera GT, so seeing a good number of high end cars is expected. If I go to the west side of town, the number of BMWs/Audi's/Lexus/etc drops drastically, and the number of old hondas/ Camry's/and Caprice's rises greatly. So it all depends where you are looking for your test data.
