Classic and I like that but it's a 14 mile trail and I'll have to double back at the end to get to my car so I figure about 20 or so miles total. Filling and energizing is a plus.

Go to your local army/navy surplus store and get a couple MRE's (Meals, Ready to Eat). They are loaded with calories and stuff, designed with Soldiers on the go in mind. They even have their own water activated heaters to worm the stuff up (and it works pretty well).

If you're not familiar with them yet, you will be soon

O I'm plenty familiar with MRE's. In my experience the lamer the entree the better the dessert. hahaha

If you make good use of the hot sauce the eggs are pretty decent and yeah, vegetarian had the best candy. I actually don't mind MRE's; I'm not a real picky eater.

Turkey, provolone, bacon and spinach sandwich on whole wheat with wishbone italian dressing. Then a bbq chopped pork sandwich with garlic mashed potatoes.
