Get yourself an 870 Express, and you should be happy enough with it.

If not the Remington, get a Mossberg. The Remington is a little bit better made, but the Mossberg will save you a few bucks, and both will perform well.

hey just stopin in for a little advise on a firearm purchase i would like to make, i know i could go to the gun shop and ask them but i would like some first hand advise first, im a hunter as so are some of you guys and im looking for a handgun that would suit my needs in the outdoors, preferable something powerful, so before i go to the shop to buy one, what do you suggest, if anyone has first hand experience please share. im looking to actually use this as my primary on a few hunts to see if i like the challenge.

If you plan on hunting with a revolver, you should get something like a .454 Casull, or a .460 Magnum, or .500SW You don't want to hunt with much less than that. Ruger, SW, Colt, and Taraus make nice revolvers, you should check them out.

Aside from finding the ammo for the .500sw (I suggest you handload anyway) and the elbow=shattering recoil, the .500sw is amazing.

If you get the .500 S&W, you can get better aftermarket grips and I think S&W sells a special shooting glove to help handle the recoil.

Ok, CLX, you have me convinced.

My current pistol wish list:

.357 Desert Eagle
45 ACP Sig or Glock 21
Walther P99 (after I sell off my Ruger)
