What do you carry?
what are you? 140lbs?
do you wear clothing thats 3 sizes too big?
I KNOW!
you wear a fanny pack!
im a little bigger than that (lol)
i wear proper sized clothes
and i dont own a fannypack...
i have a mitch rosen IWB holster, which works great, and is very comfy but 80% of the time, its too bulky for what i wear...
i want something that i can ALWAYS have with me, even if i have to go smaller caliber, id rather have a .380 with me 100% of the time, than a .45 in my car, when i need it....

No, I weigh about 220 and I don't wear a fanny pack. I love using a shoulder rig when I wear a jacket, and I have a holster sewn into my laptop case, and I use an ankle holster as well as a belly band. I do, when I'm going casual, wear 5.11 covert shirts which are designed to help conceal guns worn on the belt and in a shoulder rig.
lol, im *about* 220 also.
and i dont wear a jacket unless i have to, 90% of the time im in a tshirt, and jeans or polo shirt.
i never carry a laptop case, but occasionally i have a bookbag with me, when i do its always loaded, and when i wear my heavy winter coat its loaded.
but when i take it off....im unarmed
thats why i want something smaller, like the keltec with the pocket clip right on the slide, i can clip it in the backpocket, like a knife and viola` always armed.

I'm thinking of getting a keltec for the same reason. I have a sig 229 for the house but it's a bit bulky for everyday wear. My workplace doesn't allow firearms on the premises though so I carry a knife in my pocket and a collapsible baton in the side car door pocket.
really leaning towards the kel tec pf9
i prefer .40, BUUUUT.....since ppl cant handle recoil, they wont make a .40 THAT small
i know the kahr mk40 and pm40 are super small, but i mean single stack thin, like the pf-9
and it seems like 9mm is the biggest you can get in a SUPER thin pistol
i guess 8 rounds of 9mm remington golden sabers ought to do enough damage to get my point across.........lol

.45acp is great!
BUT for something to carry everyday.....I personally need something smaller....if i wore coveralls or carried a laptop case or something i could carry a .45 all day everyday.
but i sit alot at my job, and in the car...so i want something THIN, and light
keltec pf9 answers that....I have however found a few compact 1911 pistols i REALLY like but all of them are over an inch thick...at that rate ill just carry the p99 with my mitch rosen IWB ...i am thinking however that even though a compact .45 is a lil thicker than i would like...it will just look like a bump on my waist....the grip wont "print"....too bad i dont know anybody here that lives local and has a compact 1911 that i could try on, to see how it fits.....
and i could care less about recoil
at 230lbs, and with hands big enough to shoot a double stack 1911 or desert eagle comfortably, my thoughts are, if i have to shoot enough bullets for my hand to hurt....i did something VERY wrong....think about it....MOST self defense uses of a handgun are under 7yrds away....so is there a point in worryin about a 2" group at 30yrds?, or worrying about "the recoil after 100rds hurts......"
DUH!
if you EVER have to fire 100 rds out of a defensive handgun....LET ME KNOW....(if your still around to tell about it)
lol
EOR!

When I need to go small, I carry my Beretta 9000s in .40SW. It fits really well in an ankle holster, and even nicer in the small of my back with my shirt tucked in over it. I really can't stand the idea of a 'pocket gun' because I don't want something I will be so limited in range and ammunition capacity with. My 9000s uses full-size Beretta 96 mags, and is pretty damn accurate thanks to the way the slide is married to the frame.
LOL, That reminded me of the movie "Shoot 'Em Up" I watched on HBO yesterday. Worst movie plot EVER, but plenty of shooting action.
