Me. And regardless of how much money I have when my children are old enough to drive, they'll be driving something safe, but they'll pay for at least half and their won insurance. No offense intended to anyone here, but I don't hink 16 year old new drivers need to driving cars as fast and that perform like our cars do. Safe, reliable, and oh yeah, safe are my only requirments. Preferable a stock 4 banger wihtout outrageous power. More later, must sleep...

aaaah, gotcha! yea, it was a good idea....but as you can see, the results so far aren't exactly on par with the ages on this forum...
Umm, I've paid for all of my cars -- but my parents have helped me in other ways. My money would get sent to me from my stock broker, which takes at least a week... so my parents have let me use their line of credit for each and every car I've ever bought (so thats 5 -- not counting the stupid talon, which I paid cash for). So in that respect, I could not have easily done it without them -- rather, I'd have been paying interest while shopping for a car. I've only recently secured a small line of credit, which is awesome -- but wasnt enough to cover the audi until that check from my broker arived :P
Now, to be fair, my parents had a scholarship fund set up for my school -- so it is pretty much paid for. I'm not kidding myself here... there's no way I could have the cars I have (and have had) if I had to fork over the full amount my school is costing.
As for the post above -- I'll let my kids buy whatever car they want, as long as it is within their means. My first car was a vette, and I regret nothing. I would have been furious if my parents had of kept me from buying it. I was in love
I'd only help them buy a car though, if it was safe/economical. If they had a passion for cars, they'd have to earn the car they wanted -- they wouldnt respect it otherwise.
