Heh. Sorry guys, I like hanging around here, everyone's friendly... but when it comes to the technical aspect of cars... at least the ones I toy with, AW's "overall knowledge" > AF's.

 

yeah, you might be right, and don't worry, no one's going to bark at you for your opinion or candor.

this is audiforums. if you said AF > AW on an AW forum? get ready for all sorts of acronyms for things unimaginably painful thrown at you.

I couldn't find a new member section, so I introduced myself courteously in the OffTopic forum, and the first response I got was... DIAF. (Die in a fire.)
can you imagine if someone did that on AF? no one here is that mean. well, no one that get's listened to. I LOVE AF, and I'm not just saying it to pander to the crowd, I really do.

one exception, though... AW can be kind of friendly if you're in their local geography section, and you're like, "hey, I'm in fort collins and new to AW, what's up?" but in general discussion? you aren't making friends, you're validating your opinions.
maybe AW>AF, but AW members <<<<< AF members.

ps. I respectfully disagree, i think that particularly the mods and other institutions of AF know exactly what they're talking about, I just think that due to the gentle n00b-semi-friendly nature of AF, people are less likely to research their stuff whereas on AW, the only people who chit-chat are people who can back up their post. you know? i don't know, I just love af.... nuff said.
