The wife and I are no longer a team

Well, it's sad to say that my wife and I started the divorce process today. It's bittersweet for me because I loved and cared for her dearly and always will, however, she had her dark side too so needless to say not all of me is sad. We both agreed that we are adults and do not need lawyers to divy up our things, we also agreed to be civil about this and not fvck one another over. Hopefully this process goes through as painless and flawless as possible. All I ask is that my fellow AF'ers keep me in their thoughts and hope for the best for me. I assure you I will be ok and this is probably for the best.

We got married Feb. 15, 2006. I was 21 and she was 20. I think it was a combination of us being too young, not "dating" long enough before we got married, and the two of us wanting different things out of our lives. Thanks for all the support guys, as I said, we're going to try and make this as easy as possible.

I hope it all goes well. Better off to do it as soon as possible if it isn't right. You have a lot longer to go before you think about being married again. Don't just settle.

Cheers!

yeah.. tell her you want to do things civil but contact a lawyer and get him in your corner with advice on what to do exactly.. getting a divorce to end peacefully is like winning the lotto. I would highly suggest getting that lawyer and just asking him advice on what exactly to do so all your ducks are in a row if shiat hits the fan!

And congrats on being single!!

That's not bad advise RedGoat!

My friend almost got married but backed out and it was a battle and a half getting items back. You know the game - I want my watch back! Then give me my camera back! blaa blaa blaa

I think things start out OK then when it gets down to personal items stuff hits the fan.
