Default window tint question

hey guys i had my windows tinted about a week and a half ago... i noticed the tint has little pentip sized pits or bubbles in it, i call the shop that did the work and the guy told me that i should give it a few weeks and it will evaporate out, and will go away, he said it is common... any one else have this happen?

Shouldn't happen - that's usually a sign of something on the glass (ie, it wasn't cleaned well enough before tint went on) or inferior quality tint with glue that isn't bonding like it should. I'd go ahead and do as the tint guy said, to humor him, and in a day or two take the car back and have it redone if the bubbles aren't gone. I have had several cars tinted and never, ever saw anything like that happen. I have seen it though - usually it's that crappy purple tint you see on beaters where the whole sheet is bubbling up - that is possibly where your current tint job is headed.

No I haven't, but I'm in Binghamton, about 2 1/2 hours away to the SE of you. I'd even take the car to another tint shop, show it to them, get their opinion on it, and then use that when you take your car back to the place that did yours. Maybe it'll get them to redo it for you if it needs it.

yup you got jipped. a professionally done tint should be perfect. plus you paid them to do it perfectly but they didn't. a hair dryer might help it a bit too.

Well, then you'd better take it back. I only paid $120 to have mine done, but I still took it back right away when I saw that the back window was starting to peel away. I didn't have the bubbling issue that you do though...mine smoothed right out after an afternoon in the driveway.
