420 at the Flywheel or 420 brake?

i always thought that i was getting 420 bhp but now im being told that its 420 at the flywheel,,,,what is it?!

The engine (crank) is rated for 420bhp, at the wheels (what you actually get/use)its under 400, not sure what it is exactly.

horsepower at the crankshaft is called braking horsepower (bhp). Wheel horsepower is called wheel horsepower. (whp)

^ seems about right. quattro losses about 25% through the tranny

Guys, its actually around 245kw atw, at least australian models. or 331 bhp whichever you prefer. Awesome for a quattro drivetrain, 20-30% loss of power.

Amazing congrats to the boys at Ingolstadt.
