Am I nuts? 2003 RS6 w 110k?
Our CPA is selling his RS6 ('03). He is a maintenance fanatic and is the 2nd owner.
Thing is, the car has 110k on the clock. It is very very clean. He says he'd sell to me for $21k. I see others out there between $19,500 - $25,000 with mileage 50k - 80k.
Is this just going to be a money pit? I need to drive this car a LOT and just worry that 110k is just too risky.
How many miles can these go before major (top end, turbos, etc.) work is required - IF all of the maintenance has been kept up and it has not been beat-up (for all of the "depends" responses).
Any input would be great!!!

yep... you're nuts.
Either nuts to buy it, or nuts to pass on it.
Truthfully, I would have a hard time spending that money on something with so many miles... But at the same time, that's one rare automobile. Maintenance is going to be expensive as all hell, and that's if nothing breaks. If things start breaking, it may break your bank as well...
Food for thought.

It's key that he has all records, etc, but still...
Hopefully the timing belts have been done, the heat in the engine bay builds up so much that the heat destroys the timing belt. If that isn't done, don't even think about buying it. It should have been done at 40-60k miles. Also make sure the suspension has been updated by the Audi dealership. It was a recall in 2008 I think.
