But Michelin PS2's or Pilot Sports? And Scorpions - I run those as snow tires on the wifees SRX in the winter. Decent tire on a 320HP SUV, but I sure wouldn't want them on a performance car. Trev, I was starting to feel better about my choice of color, until you mentioned "Fast and Furious". That tempts me to change color. The last thing I want is a car that suggests ricers equipped with motors that sound like a weed-whacker through those fart cans with a hidious wing bolted to the trunk. Your dealer is getting EIGHT RS4's? Dang, that must be a big dealer. Or more likely, mine is just small. Guys, I'm definately talking about my dealer!

I like the blue color. I think you are smart to delete the sunroof. It means less weight and will help with resale. And it is one less thing to break or leak.

It's not necessarily a "huge" dealer, they just have excellent customer service and are strategically located in terms of geographics. I have not heard anything on the Pilot sports or PS2's, so I am not comfortable answering that question. All I can say is, I have not heard one word about Michelins being put on the RS4's. I hope I am wrong. I'll let you know what mine is equipped with when I get it Monday or Tueday.
Yes I agree, I wouldn't want Scorpions on a super car, however, P zero Pirelli's are a pretty damn good tire.
I hope I did not sound like "sprint blue" sucked. I like it, think its the best blue color applied to a car since the electric blue applied to the '99 Durango. However, as I get older, I prefer a color that is more distinguished and doesn't stand out. This way cops/people have a harder time determining/finding "he's driving a gray car" instead of BLUE when racing around town! Blue is my favorite color for what it's worth.
As for the sunroof... I have been w/out one for 6 yrs & am actually looking forward to it. Weight won't be that big of a difference. Think about it, galvanized steel or glass, what do you think is heavier and adding it to resale info is actually a plus? Chics like sunroofs also FYI/LOL!

Sunroof delete: I'm a big fan of function over form. So I view the sunroof as somewhat frivolous. Remove the sunroof and you get less weight, lower center of gravity, reduced wind and road noise, less complexity. fewer stuff to go wrong..

Besides, the last three new cars I've bought had rattles in the sunroof. I'd also order radio delete, power windows delete, A/C delete, etc. if it were possible. But I realize I'm a bit over the top on this stuff so spare the flames!

My lazy **** stealer finally left me a voice message 3 days later with a production date for my car. "The 34th week". WTF!? I mean, I'm OK with the date, but what kind of answer is that? I had to find a calendar converter program on the web to decipher the freekin' date! It's the week of August 21. That'll give me some extra time to get a better price for my M5.

Anybody care to take a stab at what the RS4 will do in the 1/4 mile? My M5 bone stock with crappy Dunlops ran 12.87 @ 109 mph, which is about 0.4 faster than what magazines claimed. The official 0-60 times for both cars are 4.7 sec. Do you think the RS4 will beat 12.87 at the strip? We'll find out this fall!

I like the sprint blue color. I don't think it has any "fast and furious" look to it...I do think it will be a nice way to differentiate from the pack of black/grey/siliver cars that dominate the roadways (not that there is anything wrong with those colors...I myself have a silver car).

I just checked audiusa website for the rs4, they are claiming 4.8 for 0-60, and they are known for being on the conservative side. I have not seen any reports for 1/4 mile times, so I don't know what to expect. You'll have to tell us after you post a time.

I'm not sure it will help in getting your car any earlier, but the sunroof delete is pretty specialized. I would think that most people ordering this car want the sunroof and most of the units will have it. Are all RS4 special order?

Can't wait to hear about your impresions when you get the car. Good luck.

Damn, looks like my "fast and furious" comment got everyone rattled! I just threw it out there to explore both sides of the spectrum. Elevens asked what we thought about the color and it looked as though I was the first one to tell him. Honestly it was probably the best thing for him b/c it got all your honest opinoins on the car color out in the open...not just mine. Sprint blue was my second choice by the way.
I have to say, your dealer/stealer sux dude! He should have done the conversion for you to say the least. Late August is about what I figured but I will still bet that you won't drive off the lot w/it until the very end of the month or sometime in September! With the lack of customer service you are getting at your dealer, I'd be weary about what I asked to delete, hell the dumbass might accidentally delete the brakes or steering wheel if your not careful! HAHA.
The RS4 "IS" a special order vehicle and as for the 1st batch (I ordered mine in) there was not much you could alter when ordering the car. All you could change were: Premium package yes/no, rear side air bags yes/no, color...obviously, sirius or XM, front filler panel or front license plate holder. Thats it!
1/4 mile times are hard to say but I agree on the conservative 0-60 times. In terms of those #'s, I firmly believe its all about the driver... not the car. They also probably say 4.8 for insurance reasons. I had a 2000 WS6 Trans Am and it was said to do 0-60 in 5.1 but... I easily reached it in 4.6 and that was w/out a hurst shifter which came as an option on that vehicle. It was also released with "320"HP but after a stock dino test, it was more around 375HP. Insurance-Insurance-Insurance!

Thanks Trev for stirring up the color pot! BTW, the Automobile magazine test mentioned the Michelins (but didn't say which ones).
