Default R8 pricing from the LA Auto Show

Extracted from an article in Fourtitude on the Audi display at 2 Rodeo Drive after the first night of the show;

"Audi AG board member Ralph Weyler addressed guests, making mention once more of Audi’s intended R8 pricing. To quote the German executive, the R8 will sell for about “$110,000 nicely equipped”.

i can tell you one thing; i sure as hell am not paying $110,000 for a car where i have to have it serviced at the same place some gal with her new beetle gets her halogen headlight fluid changed and her spark plugs rotated.

just like the phaeton; great car but no dealer infrastructure or manufacturer support to properly repair and provide the level of customer service expected from a $100K+ car. i argue even at most stand alone audi dealers.

if you get one, make sure the same dealer has some other "premium" brands housed in the same location, like lamborghini or bentley or other luxury marque that allows "multi-brand" stores. otherwise, you're in for a world of frustration and hurt if anything goes wrong with your R8. again, based soley on my experience with audi dealers...

It makes you wonder how much the R8 with the V10 in it is going to be.
