Default $1200 Shipping Fee?

Well, I ordered a 2006 S4, but the dealer just told me that all S4 order are on hold until October so Audi can produce the S4 25Quattro. He did manage to find one that was close to what I wanted, but it is in port in NJ. I got him down to $1500 above invoice, but he wants to charge a $1200 fee to bring it down here to Mobile. Does that seem excessive to anyone or should I agree to pay it?

Not true.

I purchased, from a dealership in PA, an S4 delivered to Las Vegas. I chose to go my own route and select a shipping company. Cost me $975 door to door.

I think you can get him down on the shipping fee. I shipped car from NYC to LA for $1200. I would expect NJ to Mobile to be $800.

Just buy it and then have a audiforum member drive it down for you!!!

Default Shipping Fee Update

Well, I found a company that will ship my car in an enclosed climate controlled truck for $200 less than what the dealer wants for an open bed truck. Open bed trucks run about $700-$800, so I know the dealer will be making something off it.
