the only special tool that you really need is a cam-lock bar. i homebrewed my own version for $10

thats alot of dough i just had my tb,water pump,belt tensioner and belt dampener done for 1050 @ blackforrest motorsports in buffalo and in 1 day i might add!

screw that high price.. do it by yourself. buy the T belt kit on ECS for like 400$ and install everything yourself.. the only tool you really need it the cam locking bar..
I did it alone and im 18 im just wrench handy i guess.

I only trust the dealer unless you can find a good Audi shop. You'll know right away by talking to the tech if he knows anything about our 2.7T. As for the price, dealers vary greatly. Mine was $1,700 and that included replacing my cam adjuster seals that were leaking. I think that was too high already.2,200 is very high, so I would try another dealer. It might be worth the drive to another nearby city. Audi will usually give you a loaner for free too.
