00 S4 2nd gear help
Went to car meet on Sat, and ended up racing back home....I accidentally shifted into 2nd rather then 4th from 3rd gear....I instantly lost boost and now can't shift into 2nd gear. I thought car went into limp mode to save it from any damage but it still won't go over 5-6 on boost guage. I think it could be the O2 sensors gone bad, slave cylinder, blown cupler.......what do you guys think.....I know...I know I screwed up....shifting. Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

It might also help if we know what car you are talking about.
The car sounds like it's in limp mode. You might have blown off a hose or the TBB. You might also have messed up the 2nd gear sycro, that happens to be the weak one.

Sorry I was in a great rush and panic when I posted the first time, it is a 2000 S4 with AWE K04 w/headers using a B&M short shifter, I shifted into 3rd from 2nd when I meant to shift into 4th, engine reved high as expected and since then it takes major arm power to engage and disengage 2nd gear. I have done some research and every thing is pointing at 2nd gear syncros. Also since this happened my car loses boost intermittently, pulls hard one sec in 3rd gear and then 10 yards down the line seems like its in limp mode. If it does go in limp mode, why would it take it self out of it a sec later. I have checked/ replaced spark plugs, VAG com throws mis firing on multiple cylinders, I also checked to see if all coils are good, apparently they look fine is there a test to assure this further. Could it be my O2 censor/s since I shocked the car by shifting it in 2nd. I appreciate all your help. Please feel free to ask any questions if I have not written clearly.
Thanks

well your synchro has definitely taken a beating and please take it easy with the shifting right now unless you have the down time to get a tranny rebuild and the money for it. but it sounds like you are definitely in limp mode as said earlier, check to make sure a hose didn't pop off and then start from there... you aren't still running stock hoses are you?
I replaced hoses with Samco, which hose should I check? I checked TBB and hoses coming off of bypass valves. Is there any possibility that I could have messed my motor up, car still runs hard when not in limp mode, no smoke or fluid...hope its not the motor. Thanks for your help.
I don't know much about S4 motors as for I’m a newbie, but over revving in some motors can cause the valves to hit the pistons. Does the S4 motor have recessed piston to allow for mishaps and over revving? I guess I’m asking a question more than I’m advising…
I guess things like this are the reason I was thinking a TIP would have been better, but the deal on the manual was tooo sweet to pass up.
