ok this is what i want to do.... im going to sell my bmw but want to know if the s4 is reliable( daily driver), every car has common problems, what are the s4 problens...turbos, engines, tranny, suspention..etc...? can you guys tell me if im just going to buy problems or buy the car of my dreams...

i dont drive crazy, but i do want a car the i can put it down when a honda or subi pulls beside me.

I DD my B5 S4, & as far its reliability, (u said turbos so I assume u meant B5 model)
I 've had to replace my control arms, engine coolant temp sensor,
MAF, Ignition control module, auxillery water pump & i've only had the car a year...

that doesnt include the basic maint. like timing belt replacement, etc.



but I think you'll find most would share my opinion
when I say I'm very Happy w/ my S4..


if all your concerned w/ is HP & reliability,
the EVOIX will take out Hondas / Scoobies w/ ease.

 

Don't buy it if you're worried about repairs. This certainly isn't a Honda. At any moment **** can go, or it might not. If it does, you will pay a ton.

If you are willing to overlook that, then shoot us the cars you are looking at. I wouldn't pay over 16k for a S4 right now. Their market value is currently in the pooper.

 

at the moment im lokking at a 01 s4 with 80K, the guy said that it has major service just done, but the only thing is that it is salvage but wants around 12,000 for it..... what do you guys think

 

no to salvage!!! i would never do it..

17 is too rich for my blood, the most i can do a car for right now is around 13,000

 

Buy my 2001 A6 2.7T. 90K freeway miles, very clean. I'd do $13K.
