Hi I'm having some problems with my s4. It seems like the car is running really hot. I ran it on ross tech and this came up.
I just replaced water pump/head gaskit and temp sensors. Fault came back up after install.. not sure whats wrong with it.. any help?

Could it be short cut or broken wire somewhere? Maybe car things that the motor is still cold and it's not properly circulating coolant fluid?

I would suggest replacing the coolant temperature sensor. its is a common fail point and it seems that yours is going P0118

a faulty CTS has been know to cause all sorts of issues.

then clear the codes and see what comes back

I suppose he already changed the temperature sensors as mentioned in the first message

yes I already changed the coolant sensor and replaced water pump. The car seems to be heating up really fast. The temp gauge stays in the middle and never gets any hotter but My oil temp gets to around 250 within the first 15 min of easy driving.
It also smells like melting rubber under the hood after I drive around for a few minutes.
The box where the power steering fluid is held feels like its 200 degrees and the tubing
going into coolant almost seems like its melting. This is the first Audi I've owned so I'm not sure if that is normal or not but it doesn't seem right. I have cleared the codes before I changed the sensors and water pump and the codes have all come back.

found problem finally, was the secondary coolant pump that had a leak.
