Has anyone changed this sensor? I've searched the forums and have had no luck in finding a thread on the location of this sensor. I did find a thread on a B5 2.8L saying its above the oil filter and you need to take off the front bumper, radiator just to get to it. Please someone tell me that its not the same for the S4 and that some German engineer stuck it in such a good spot that I'm just missing it.

my oil light keeps going on, right in the middle of the computer display it blinks with a leaking oil can and makes a loud BEEEEEEP! what is that???

 

Its one of the oil sensors, its either the oil pressure sensor or the oil level sensor.

The oil pressure sensor is near the oil pump housing towards the back of the block. If you crawl under the car from the front and look for the sway bar you will be very close to it. It has a white wire in a black loose fitting casing going to it. It is a little tricky to see so have some good light. Let me know if this helps. The sensor that is on the oil pan is for oil temp and oil level and from what I have read do not get anything other than the oem hella unit.

Finally under the car. But still cant find it. You say its near the back of the block, but to follow the sway bar. Sway bar seems to be at the front of the block. Is it on the the drivers side or passenger side? Any clarification would help.

Found it, it was just above the sway bar tucked up behind some intercooler pipe. I had to lower the sway bar and remove the intercooler pipe to get to it. From there, I couldnt get the connector to unclip from the sensor. Even if I did, I didnt have a deep enough socket that large to remove it. I'm thinking its about 20 - 22 mm. Even with that all removed I could barely get my hand on it, let enough strength to remove the clip. I put it all back together, its my wifes car and she needs it, untill I get the socket, then will have another go at it.
